As the sole Level Designer on the The Derelict Settlements, I was tasked to find and create fifteen unique locations throughout the in-game universe.
These locations were approached with the idea of PVP, single or multi person PVE missions, or places to hang out and enjoy the scenery. This made it so we had to cover a lot of ground as far as gameplay, while still support a multiple approach strategy for players, since these locations were part of an open world.

Character Setup
This location was a challenge because it was the game's first level over water while being completely remote. This made it so I needed to create multiple platforms while supporting ships of all sizes. This location is two stories, creating vertical gameplay, while having fun and diverse pathing to make it around the level. Nautrally, with the open format of this level, it allowed for an interesting PVP area. PVP on foot or foot to air allowed for different ways for players to use the level around them to create dynamic gameplay.

Destroyed ships and junk from the past used to build a settlement in the middle of the Mircotech forest. I created this area with the idea that it would be approached in any direction, by friendly or hostile players. There's shops and areas to hang out with friends.

This location was created around the theme "King of the Hill" to really drive on foot PVP action. I wanted this location to take advantage of its small layout while providing a lot of diverse routes and hiding places. This location is very unique being built on top of a mountain making it fairly remote and only approachable by ship.
